Beyond Violence: Toward Justice in Latin American Writing / Nueva York, 8 de mayo

This panel discussion featuring Jorge Eduardo Benavides (Peru), Alicia Borinsky (Argentina), Andrea Cote Botero (Colombia), Marguerite Feitlowitz (Bennington College), Patricio Pron (Argentina), and moderator Ksenija Bilbija (University of Wisconsin-Madison) will address the timely themes of violence and justice in Latin America. As a lead-up to the launch of Review 88 on May 15, these authors and contributors to the issue will discuss the legacies of violence that have marked the histories of their respective countries as well as their own work, and creative strategies for transcending them. Andrea Cote Botero will conclude with a poetry reading. This program will be conducted in Spanish with simultaneous English interpretation available. A book signing will follow, in collaboration with Posman Books.
